Marvel Champions: The Card Game launched in 2019 with a core set from Fantasy Flight Games, and every release since then is a hero pack, a scenario pack or a campaign box that builds on that core set. The next releases are the Elektra and Iron Fist hero packs in November 2026, which close out the Defenders wave.

What do you need to start playing Marvel Champions?
You need the core set, and only the core set. It includes five heroes, Iron Man, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and She-Hulk, three villains, Rhino, Klaw and Ultron, and everything needed for one to four players, including true solo play with one hero. Every hero pack, scenario pack and campaign box is an expansion, so none of them replaces the core set.
What is the Marvel Champions campaign box release order?
There are ten campaign boxes so far, each with two new heroes and a linked set of villain scenarios, most recently Fear No Evil in 2026. Campaign boxes are the biggest single step up from the core set, because they add heroes and villains at the same time.
| Order | Campaign box | Year | Heroes included |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Rise of Red Skull | 2020 | Hawkeye, Spider-Woman |
| 2 | The Galaxy’s Most Wanted | 2021 | Rocket Raccoon, Groot |

Frequently asked questions
Do Marvel Champions hero packs need the core set?
Yes. Hero packs, scenario packs and campaign boxes are all expansions for the core set, which holds the tokens, dials and standard encounter material the expansions assume you own.
Can you play Marvel Champions solo?
Yes. The game supports one to four players, and solo play with a single hero, often called true solo, is one of the most popular ways to play it.
Should you buy Marvel Champions in release order?
You do not have to. Release order is the cleanest way to track what exists, and campaign boxes play best in order for their stories, but any hero pack can be played against any villain once you own the core set.
What is the next Marvel Champions release after Iron Fist?
Fantasy Flight Games has not announced it in the sources checked for this page. Elektra and Iron Fist close the Defenders wave in November 2026, and this page will be updated when the next wave is announced.
