How does Assassin’s Creed: Animus play?

Animus is a competitive game of adventure and rivalry for 1 to 4 players. Each player enters the memories of a legendary Assassin with unique abilities, equipment and targets, then races to strike down enemies, complete memories and earn the highest score to take the title of Master Assassin.

Mantic lists the game at 40 to 90 minutes depending on player count, for ages 12 and up. The Standard Edition includes Altaïr, Ezio, Connor and Eivor, each with their own playstyle, across four historical eras: the original game, the Ezio trilogy, the American Revolution and Viking Age England.

What is the difference between the two editions?

The Collector’s Edition expands the game to 16 Assassins and 10 historical eras, and adds a set of deluxe upgrades. The table below compares the two editions using Mantic’s own product pages.

The Collector’s Edition roster adds Aveline, Edward, Arno, Adewale, Bayek, Kassandra and Alexios, Jacob and Evie Frye, and Naoe and Yasuke. Mantic counts more than 400 cards in the box.

How much does it cost, and is there a launch offer?

The Standard Edition costs £40 and the Collector’s Edition costs £175 at Mantic’s webstore, and GameSpot lists the United States prices at $65 and $229. Mantic is running a launch offer with the code HIDDENONE: it saves £8, €10 or $13 on the Standard Edition and £35, €39 or $45 on the Collector’s Edition at checkout, before Monday, November 30, 2026, and while stocks last.

Animus reaches retail after a Kickstarter campaign that closed with £274,425 pledged by 2,828 backers against a £35,000 goal, as reported by GodIsAGeek. It joins a busy run of video game adaptations at Tap Draw Roll, including Diablo: Unbound heading to Gamefound in Q1 2027, the Big Buck Hunter board game arriving in June 2027 and Plants vs. Zombies: The Board Game on Kickstarter.
