The Vanguard Assault Battle Group is the fast option, built around Mark VI infantry, a Rhino transport and a Predator battle tank.

The Land Raider can be built as either the Explorator or the Carrier variant. Games Workshop says either box works as a starting point for a new Legiones Astartes army or as reinforcements for an existing one, and that each box costs less than buying the contents individually.
How much do the Battle Groups cost?
Each Battle Group costs $255 in the US, according to Games Workshop’s November 2, 2026 email to retailers, reported by Spikey Bits. The Warhammer Community reveal itself listed no price and said only that pre-orders open soon. Spikey Bits puts the Vanguard Assault contents at $414.75 bought separately, a saving of $159.75, and the Heavy Assault contents at $386 bought separately, a saving of $131.
When do the Battle Groups go on sale?
Pre-orders open on Saturday, November 14, 2026, and the boxes release on Friday, November 27, 2026, according to the retailer email reported by Spikey Bits.
