Archon Studio’s third Heroes of Might and Magic III board game campaign has come to a close, and it went out big. The Factory, Bulwark, and Forge expansions finished with a final total of €2,074,000.10 pledged by 10,425 backers, or 4,148% of the €50,000 goal. The funding goal fell in 6 minutes and 53 seconds, and every one of the 70 stretch goals was unlocked.
The campaign closed around October 12, 2026. In the final backer update, “The Story Never Ends,” posted October 13, Archon wrote that “our third journey has ended” and that “the campaign is over,” thanking backers for an amazing campaign before turning to the pledge manager.
The lost town of Forge
The headline act is Forge, the long-lost Heroes III town that never made it into the 1999 video game. Archon built the faction in collaboration with Gregory Fulton, the original Forge designer, working from his ideas and concepts for the faction and its campaign. The update text describes a story built around the reactivation of the “Heavenly Forge,” an ancient and advanced foundry.
The other two expansions draw on fan-favorite corners of the franchise. Factory brings engines, firearms, and technology back to Enroth, centered on Burton, a town of innovation, oil, and steam. Bulwark heads to the cold lands of the Vori, home of the Snow Elves. With all three expansions, players can command 13 unique towns.
Everything unlocked
All 70 stretch goals were unlocked along the way, including new heroes and dwellings for every faction, neutral units like the Cyberdragon, the Terror, the Lobstrosity, and the Will-o’-the-Wisp, plus mission book scenarios, artifact packs, and event cards. Archon is also offering a Unified Rulebook as a €40 add-on for backers who want the complete game in one volume.
The finish puts the campaign among the biggest tabletop crowdfunding results of the season, in the same company as our coverage of Nemesis: Legacy, which passed €5.7 million on Gamefound.
What comes next
With the campaign over, Archon says it needs a little time to organize everything before the pledge manager opens. Backers should watch the project page and their inboxes for the pledge manager launch and production updates.
