The preview season for Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek begins Tuesday. Wizards of the Coast has confirmed the set’s debut stream airs October 20, 2026 on the official Magic: The Gathering YouTube channel and twitch.tv/magic, followed by a WeeklyMTG aftershow and Making Magic coverage the same day.

The debut will show off new cards, mechanics, and Booster Fun treatments for the Universes Beyond set, which brings Star Trek’s captains, starships, and stories to Magic. A few cards have already appeared in the set’s card image gallery, but the October 20 stream is the first full look at what the set has in store.

After the debut, previews run October 21 through October 29 across dozens of outlets and creators, including IGN, Polygon, PC Gamer, Nerdist, and TrekMovie, plus regional Magic outlets around the world. Wizards will update the card image gallery every weekday morning during preview season with the previous day’s reveals, and the complete gallery goes live October 30.

Commander players get their own spotlight in the final week of previews. The We Are the Borg deck previews on October 26, followed by Federation Fleet on October 27, Klingon Fury on October 28, and Landing Party on October 29.

If you want to follow along without hunting across dozens of sites, Wizards is keeping the set’s card image gallery as the single home for every reveal. It updates each weekday morning once previews begin with all the cards shown the previous day, so the gallery is always one day behind the live reveals, and the complete gallery drops October 30 when preview season wraps.

The set releases November 13, 2026 and is available for preorder now from local game stores, TCGplayer, Amazon, and elsewhere Magic is sold. The preview kickoff follows news of product delays affecting some Star Trek waves, which we covered earlier this week.
